The PlayStation 5 release date is slated for November 20th, 2020. From a new DualSense controller to a next-gen console, here’s what to look forward to when playing your favorite new PS5 games!

DualSense Controller
In a blog post, Sony teased arguably one of the PlayStation 5’s most notable improvements: a new DualSense controller. As you can see, the design alone is a serious upgrade from the PlayStation 4 DualShock controller. Immersive adaptive triggers in the L2 and R2 buttons add greater resistance to the experience. Gamers will also be able to feel effects from in-game actions through more haptic feedback. Other new DualSense features include a built-in microphone and headset jack, 3D audio, a wireless charging station, and a Create button. This more advanced version of the DualShock 4 SHARE button allows users to capture and broadcast their most epic gaming moments. Users will also see familiar features from DualShock models, including built-in battery, intuitive motion control, and a high-fidelity integrated speaker.

Lightning Speed
Another area we expect the PlayStation 5 to stand out truly is its lightning-fast load times in gameplay. Its integrated I/O features an ultra-high-speed 825GB SSD that is so advanced Epic Games CEO Tim Sweeney, has said it will “help drive future PCs.” Created with an immense GPU power at 2.23GHz and an expandable storage bandwidth increase, this next-gen console will blaze a new path for system integration and performance. In fact, in a memo released to employees, Sony claims that the new console is approximately 100 times faster than the PS4. We can expect to see a custom eight-core AMD Zen 2 CPU at 3.5GHz (variable frequency).

The PlayStation 5 gives Sony a leg up in next-gen imagery. A wide variety of new features will enhance a gamer’s viewing experience. Supported PS5 games feature ray tracing, which stimulates true-to-life shadows and reflections, taking in-game graphics to a whole new level of realism. PS5 games are compatible with 4K-TVs, and can also support 8K output. HDR technology also gives new games vibrant and life-like colors.
