Learn About Apple’s Affordable Tablet in Our iPad 8 Review

Better Performance Through A12 Bionic Chip Processor
Equipped with an A12 Bionic Processor, the new iPad offers a 40% faster CPU performance than last year’s Apple iPad. According to Apple, this bionic chip makes the new iPad up to three times faster than the best-selling Android tablet and up to six times faster than the best-selling Chromebook. We can attribute its next-level machine learning capabilities to its new eight-core Neural Engine. Another serious improvement from previous iPad Pro Models, Neural Engine, will enhance photo editing, gameplay, Siri performance, and more. With 10-hours of battery life, the new iPad Air and Pro are unstoppable!

Increased Productivity
The eighth-generation iPad pro nearly doubled in speed, and it also offers a whole slew of other features that will enhance user productivity. This Apple device supports both Smart Keyboard and Apple Pencil, which advance the note-taking, sketching, messaging, and browsing experience. The new Apple iOS update for iPhones has been well-received, and the iPad Pro runs on a similar system. iPadOS 14 simplifies working with notes and drawings, thanks to Scribble and Smart Selection, as well as enhanced shape recognition and data detection capabilities. Universal Search and redesigned Home Screen widgets make browsing in the new operating system much more straightforward. Sync with your iPhone, Airpods, Apple Watch, MacBook, or Apple stylus or magic keyboard to take your productivity to the next level.

A Familiar Design and Display
The new iPad’s overall aesthetic is reminiscent of earlier models, so users can expect a chunkier bezel design. But, don’t mistake comfortability for antiquation. Its 10.2-inch Retina display still makes TV and movie streaming an extraordinary viewing experience. (One year of free Apple TV+ also doesn’t hurt!). The iPad Pro comes in space gray, gold, and silver finishes. Other recognizable design elements are its Home Button with Touch ID, right-hand power button, FaceTime HD camera and rear camera, and Lightning port charger. The iPad Pro is thin and airy, and can easily be transported for work or school. But, if you’re looking for an even more lightweight device, check out the eighth-generation iPad Air or even an iPad mini!

Sustainability
Back in July 2020, Apple announced its plans to become 100% carbon neutral by 2030. Through renewable energy, Apple reduced the eighth-generation iPad’s carbon footprint by 7% from its predecessor. The enclosure itself is made from 100% recycled aluminum. The new iPad runs on 66% less energy than required by the ENERGY STAR efficiency requirement. It is also free of arsenic, mercury, Brominated flame retardant, PVC, and Beryllium. As outlined in their Climate Roadmap, we expect to see Apple further its sustainability efforts in devices to come. Lastly, keep in mind that, when these devices break, the more eco-friendly option is usually to repair versus replace.
