What to Consider When You Need LG Optimus G Screen Replacement

For those who are LG fans, you might not be surprised that the Optimus G smartphone hit one million in sales only four months after its debut in November of 2012. It was the first widely-distributed device to run on the Qualcomm Snapdragon S4, a 1.5 GHz processor. It had a 4.7-inch screen, protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 2. Unfortunately, Gorilla Glass doesn’t mean that the smartphone is bulletproof or even accident proof. In fact, LG Optimus G screen replacement is one of the common repair services needed for the smartphone.

LG Optimus G Screen Replacement Cost

The cost for LG Optimus G screen repair will vary by service provider, location, warranty, and model. As per the Manufacturer’s Warranty, the phone’s parts are guaranteed to last one year. But screen replacement would only fall under warranty if the display were somehow faulty due to a manufacturing error, not to user error or accidental damage.

Here is more information about the three model types that may need LG Optimus repair:

LG Optimus G LS970

The LG Optimus G LS970 was the model offered through Sprint, which featured a 13-megapixel camera and 32GB of internal storage. The digitizer costs $10-20 and kits with the LCD cost around $60. That doesn’t include labor if you are seeking a repair service.

LG Optimus G E970

AT&T released the LG Optimus G E970 model, complete with a microSD-card memory expansion slot in addition to the 16GB of internal storage. Many clamored after this particular model for that very reason. Parts for this model cost approximately the same as the Sprint version, and service charges vary.

LG Optimus G Pro

The LG Optimus Pro runs on a Snapdragon 600 processor and has an expansive 5.5” screen. Due to these intense features, the battery will drain more quickly and the screen can sustain more damage. It’s also important to note that repairing the LG Optimus G Pro model will usually be more costly.

LG Optimus G Screen Protector

One way to avoid an LG Optimus G cracked screen is by investing in a screen protector. It’s true that the Gorilla Glass is stronger than your average electronic display glass. It will stand up to grime and scratches very well. Say, for instance, shoving your phone into your pocket full of change or throwing it into a bag with keys. The Optimus will be resistant to that kind of wear. However, that doesn’t make it impact resistant.

Most repair requests for LG Optimus screens originate from a more serious accident, such as dropping your phone, and it hitting the cement at just the right angle to crack or shatter. That’s where a screen protector can make a difference. From an extra plastic cover to a leather case, screen protectors offer varying amounts of additional protection from cracking the glass.

I had been having problems charging my iPhone 14 and it finally got to the point where no cord would charge the phone. We were visiting family and my brother in law suggested calling CPR which I did and spoke with Jesse. He said bring it in and he'd check it out but thought it probably was the charging port that needed to be cleaned. Ten minutes later I was there, Jesse took the phone to the back and returned a minute later. Showing me the pile of lint that came out of the port. He solved the problem and there was no charge. The least I can do is leave this unqualified review for his services and his philosophy of doing business. If I lived in the Cities and had a tech problem, I wouldn't hesitate to go back to Jesse!
